Will his old song return at Clash at the Castle?

Back in the late naughtiest and early 10s, the WWE Universe loved the theme song that blasted out into the arena every time Drew McIntyre made his walk to the ring, and now it’s looking like the iconic track could make its return.

On September 3, the proud Scotsman will take one of the biggest challenge of his career. After campaigning for years, he will have the opportunity to headline the first UK PPV in almost two decades. At Clash at the Castle, he will fight for the world title against the formidable, and borderline unbeatable, Roman Reigns.

However, his road to the Principality Stadium was anything but easy. When he initially arrived on the scene, it looked like he’d head straight to the top. Having been handpicked by Vince McMahon, ‘The Chosen One’ raced straight to Intercontinental Championship success.

However, McIntyre’s fortunes in the company began to change and, ultimately, he was released from WWE in 2014. But he didn’t let that deter him. McIntyre continued to work in other organisations, and in a testament to his powers of self-belief, he worked his way back into the company.

And since then, he’s gone from strength to strength. The 37-year-old has become a fan favourite and picked up two world titles. But although there are elements of his first run in WWE he’d rather forget, he still holds fond memories.

Drew McIntyre old theme song to make grand return

The wrestler has recently taken to Twitter on two separate occasions to post his former song’s lyrics.

He said: “Out of time, so say goodbye.” and “What is yours…now is mine.”

In an episode of WWE’s The Bump, he discussed the potential of giving ‘Broken Dreams’ a second chance.

McIntyre explained: “I have been messing with people for years regarding the old music, and it’s amazing that people are still talking about it as often as they talk about it. I see it multiple times a day. ‘Bring it back, bring it back.’

I love my current theme. It suits who I am today. It’s very much the Warrior music, and when I’m out in the ring, I’m very much an animal in that ring. But at the right time, the right occasion, the right match, the right event, I think it’d be appropriate to bring it back. And that’s all I’ll say right now.”
