Tony Ferguson‘s return to the cage is imminent.
UFC president Dana White stated Saturday night time that Ferguson will face Li Jingliang at UFC 279 on Sept. 10 in Las Vegas. Sources informed ESPN that bout agreements haven’t but been signed, however there’s a verbal settlement in place. Ferguson will transfer up from light-weight to welterweight for the matchup.
Ferguson, 38, gained 12 straight fights from 2013 to 2019, tied for the longest such streak in UFC light-weight historical past with Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Li (19-7) has gained 5 of his previous seven fights. The Chinese language-born fighter is coming off a victory over Muslim Salikhov on July 16. Li, 34, has an 11-5 UFC document.
