Roman Reigns Title Plans Have WWE Bosses “Intrigued”

A new report has suggested that the result of the main event between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre for Clash at the Castle is in more doubt than ever.

For two years Roman Reigns has sat at the head of the table in WWE as the Universal Champion. Reigns’ place in WWE history was even more assured at WrestleMania 38 when he defeated Brock Lesnar to unify the Universal and WWE Titles, ensuring there was just one Tribal Chief reigning over the WWE Universe.

The question that has been on fans’ lips for the longest time is “who can beat Roman Reigns?” with the star becoming almost untouchable in his role. Jey Uso, Braun Strowman, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan, Edge, Cesaro, Rey Mysterio, John Cena, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Goldberg, Riddle, and Lesnar have all tried to pry the gold from Reigns and all have failed.

Roman Reigns’ next challenge comes at Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales in the form of Drew McIntyre. With the event taking place in the UK, many have suspected that the Scottish star could be in line to topple Reigns but not everybody – and certainly the betting odds – don’t agree.

Now WrestleVotes has reported that the current rumours within WWE suggest that a potential title change in Wales has those at the top of WWE “intrigued”:

“For the first time in a long time, there has been some discussions creatively regarding Roman Reigns dropping the title(s). I’m hearing multiple ideas have intrigued those making the final call come Saturday in Cardiff. Should be an interesting week ahead…”

The current card for Clash at the Castle can be found below –

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Drew McIntyre – Unified WWE Universal Championship
  • Liv Morgan (c) vs. Shayna Baszler – SmackDown Women’s Championship
  • Gunther (c) vs. Sheamus – Intercontinental Championship
  • Riddle vs. Seth Rollins
  • Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka vs. Bayley, Dakota Kai, IYO SKY
