- Roman Reigns is rumoured to face The Rock at Wrestlemania 39
- The Rock has been away from WWE TV since October 2019
- Reigns is now a part-timer in WWE
Speaking to the Sports Illustrated Media podcast, The Head of the Table didn’t deny anything and came up with an interesting response. The Rock recently dropped a hint of a dream match in his series, The Young Rock.
“Update is Dwayne is dropping it with his own projects. It’s got to be pretty good, it’s got to be pretty special. I think that just goes to show the clammer, the buzz for it, the chatter for it, the wishful thinking,” Reigns said.
“It’s something that he definitely played into within ‘Young Rock,’ which as you know with him, everything is highly strategic. A lot of synergy with everything that he does, with the projects he’s guiding and has in mind. So yeah, I would say just based on that alone, it looks even better than it did the last time we spoke.”
The Rock was expected to make his WWE return at Survivor Series 2021 as he had made his debut at the same event 25 years ago. While the show was built around The Rock’s 25th anniversary, the former WWE Champion didn’t make his return.
He was then expected to come out after the main event of Wrestlemania 38 but that didn’t happen either. The fans are still hoping for the dream match and it remains to be seen if that happens or not.
Reigns is likely to drop his titles to Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle and is likely to be without the championships as he is a part-timer now. The Undisputed Universal Champion is expected to go on a break after the UK event.
